A new two-phasee partition method has been developed by Rui Cao et.al and the manuscript has been accepted by Journal Proteome Research,(IF: 6.9) a core journal in the area of proteome research .
Integration of a Two-Phase Partition Method into Proteomics Research on Rat Liver Plasma Membrane Proteins
Abstract:

In this article, we have described an improved integrated strategy for analysis of PM proteins that combines sucrose density centrifugation and aqueous two-phase partition with SDS-PAGE and nano-LC-MS/MS, and use it for the first time to analyze the PM proteome from a mammalian tissue. The integrated method is rapid and robust, and features low contamination and high reproducibility. The mass spectrometric and western blot analysis results suggest that the PM preparation has minimal ER and mitochondria membrane contamination.

HUPO 4th Annual World Congress 2005 has opened in Munich, Germany. This congress offered practical approaches to performing proteomics experiments and informal sessions for students and post-docs to have discussions with leading investigators from around the world.
Pro. Ping Chen and PhD. student LiJun Zhang submitted their abstracts and joined the meeting. Detail about it will be shown in Lab's meeting in September 9.


The manuscript about DEPD database has been accepted by bioinformatics and published in vol 21 no 18. The database was designed to store the output of comparative proteomics studies and provides a publically available query and analysis platform for data mining. You can logon it by clicking here.    1. The data included in the database has the potential to be very useful to research community.
   2. This is an ambitious project and attempts to fill a much needed role. I am not aware of any other tools that provide a similar service for protein-level expression data over a wide range of organisms.
